DRUMHELLER TRIP

Celebrating Older Persons Grant

On July 3 to 5, 2026 approximately 40 Superannuates and guests from Regina, Moose Jaw and Swift Current enjoyed a joint travel venture to visit Drumheller and area. Participants were treated to both the Annual Passion Play and also Rosebud Theatre which presented Anne of Green Gables. After each performance there were extra planned tours of the Hoodoos, Horseshoe Canyon and The Little Church.

Participants were able to mingle and socialize during the day, on the bus, after and during the tours and planned events. Very positive comments were shared. We felt this joint venture was a success with the request from many of the participants for possible other tours happening in the future.

We used Engleheim Tours, with their driver and tour guide, picking up guests in Regina, Moose Jaw and Swift Current, as we travelled on #1 highway before turning north to Drumheller.

This Drumheller tour covered accommodation, transportation, tickets to all events, daily breakfasts and one lunch and one supper. Costs for participants varied by their choice of the hotel accommodation they requested.

Participants included both younger and older Superannuates and their guests, including those with mobility issues and those without. All were treated with consideration and well looked after by the bus employees.

The individual costs for the Regina Chapter members were off-set by the grant we received from the Provincial STS. This grant helped to subsidize each STS Regina Superannuate's costs for the entire trip - from extra food costs, expense of the trip and even a small tip to the driver and guide.  Each travelling member received benefit from this welcome grant from the STS.
